Baptisms (sometimes known as Christenings)
Bethesda welcomes everyone who wishes to be baptised or have their children baptised. Baptism is about belonging, and Christians believe this act is a special blessing on a person’s life, and a moment of great celebration. Because baptism is about belonging, we do this with the whole church community as part of our regular Sunday morning worship. There is no charge for use of the church for a baptism.
Weddings
The Methodist Church celebrates and affirms the love shared between opposite sex and same sex couples. Bethesda is available and authorised for weddings, our Minister will be delighted to talk over the details of the service you would like for your special day, alongside providing advice about marriage preparation. Our church stewards would be on hand to guide your guests to their seats and ensure that the service goes smoothly.
Funerals
Arranging a funeral can be a particularly stressful time, but at Bethesda we try to ensure these services are an opportunity to remember well, to lead to healing. Bethesda is available for funerals, some families choose to have a shorter service and Committal at the crematorium or cemetery first and if they desire, a service of thanksgiving at the church. Others choose a funeral service at church followed by the Committal at the crematorium or cemetery. Suitable music can be provided, along with the possibility of a photographic montage on our screen if desired. We have a team of organists available if needed.
Our Minister is available to discuss any of these Life Events with you.
